SNOWSHOE FOUNDATION THANKS SUPPORTERS FOR SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN

12TH ANNUAL TREASURE ON THE MOUNTAIN

[Snowshoe, WV] – The Snowshoe Foundation has announced a successful conclusion of their main fundraising event of 2021, the 12th Annual Treasure on the Mountain Raffle.

Despite a challenging year for the world, our nation, and local communities, the Snowshoe Foundation’s 12th Annual Treasure on the Mountain Raffle came back stronger than ever. With 5,000 tickets sold in record-breaking time, Treasure on the Mountain event attendees took over Snowshoe Mountain for a day of amazing prizes, exciting side raffles, delicious food – and most importantly, a lot of fun raising money to support local communities.

Last year, the Snowshoe Foundation Board of Directors secured full funding of prior-year initiatives with the distribution of more than $196,000 in community development grants to local nonprofit agencies and partners in support of programs benefitting local families and communities. An additional $52,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving local youth.

IT TAKES A MOUNTAIN TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS

Snowshoe Foundation Board of Directors Vice President, Voras Haynes, was quick to point out the vital role of the community as a whole in assisting the Foundation’s mission:

“During a time when so many faced hardships of their own, we have been humbled by the generosity of those individuals and local businesses that stepped up to support others in greater need. Not only do the proceeds of the Treasure on the Mountain Raffle support local families, communities, and the organizations that support them, but the event is one of the largest annual sources of revenue for so many of our local vendors and sales groups. In supporting others, we make our community stronger. It comes full circle.

On behalf of the Snowshoe Foundation, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Davis Trust Company the corporate sponsor of the Foundation, as well as other generous financial supporters, donors, the passionate Snowshoe Mountain Resort staff, volunteers who selflessly contributed their time and energy, and all who helped make the 12th Annual Treasure on the Mountain Raffle a success.”

The tireless dedication and active involvement of the Snowshoe Foundation’s volunteer board of directors has made a significant impact. Since its inception in 2003, the Snowshoe Foundation has contributed more than $2 million to support families and communities throughout Pocahontas, Webster, and Randolph County, WV.

GREAT THINGS HAPPEN WHEN A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER

Snowshoe Foundation Board Member, John Carte, reached out to express his appreciation, as well:
“We are grateful for the generosity of our local supporters, as well as those who participated virtually from across the nation. Your support in purchasing tickets and side raffles helps support everything from local food banks, college scholarships, and health initiatives to the promise of a brighter future for our local mountain communities. Thank you for your efforts during these difficult times.”
