SNOWSHOE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO ANNUAL TREASURE ON THE MOUNTAIN FUNDRAISING EVENT

SNOWSHOE, W. Va – (July 3, 2020) – The Snowshoe Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children, families, and community organizations in Pocahontas, Randolph, Webster and surrounding counties, has announced several COVID-19-related adjustments to their annual “Treasure On The Mountain” fundraising event to reduce contact and help facilitate social distancing in an effort to limit the spread of the virus.

“We want everyone to have a blast at the event as always, but we all have a responsibility to help keep each other safe” said Snowshoe Foundation Director Kristen Doss. “It’s definitely going to look a lot different this year, but it’s still Treasure On The Mountain, and it’s still all about supporting the Foundation and helping us continue to make a positive impact in our community.”

The event, traditionally contained to a gated area on the Skidder ski slope, will instead take place in and around Snowshoe’s mountaintop village. The actual prize drawings will take place in The Connection closed to entry, with live streaming on the Snowshoe Foundation’s Facebook page and on Snowshoe TV throughout the resort. Food vendors, always a favorite at the event, will be dispersed in various locations around the village. Per state guidelines it is recommended that all transactions during the event be cashless to reduce points of contact, so please plan accordingly.

The Snowshoe Foundation is adhering to the State’s guidelines for Fairs & Festivals (https://governor.wv.gov), and the event is subject to change in the event of any new recommendations from health officials.
